If you're looking for gossip, I don't think you'll find it in this book, despite its title and the cover picture. The Gods, I assume, are the male stars themselves, while the glamour is of being a movie star. The book is a review of 124 films, listed at the back of the book. It discusses the period of the story, the romantic themes, it's Indian-mess and culture, and shows how music has changed by the implementation of other instruments, with discussions on the dream and dance sequences. The films' reviews are quite interesting and may give you the inclination to watch any of these films, you may not have seen before.
