This guide book had tons of really great full color pictures! I have never bought a book made by this company before, but I will definitely buy another one!

This is a fantastic travel guide and very well organized. This was our first time at Oahu and so we decided to purchase this guide based on the recommendations we read here. We planned our vacation mainly around the sights and restaurants recommended in the book and I must say that we were pleasantly surprised, this guide not only points you to the best tourist attractions but also to some of the best not so known locations around the island. Great buy and highly recommended.

This is an awesome book. I have read all of it and it is helping me to plan our anniversary trip to the islands. It has helped me decided on what to do and not to do based on the very honest writing by the authors. Would highly recommend it for someone getting ready to travel to O'ahu!!

I used this guide along with "Oahu Revealed" and was thoroughly happy with both purchases. This particular guide, while missing color photos, had awesome walking tours and many useful maps. Each area was divided into easy to follow categories such as eating, sleeping and activities. And the reviews are short, but accurate!

this book was great for our recent trip to hawaii, i used it most days when deciding where to eat, shop, sightsee, even had locations for laundromats which i needed at one point. another plus is that its not as big and weighty as a lot of the lonely planet guides its handy to chuck in the handbag too.

I used Lonely Planet religiously when traveling throughout Europe and was never let down. The restaurant, hotel, and activity recommendations were fantastic. So, when planning a trip to Hawaii the first thing I did was purchase this book. I was very disappointed in the minimal recommendations. For example, I am going surfing and the book didn't have any specific surf lesson places listed. Typically I am a huge fan of lonely planet, but this is not their best work.

The eBook and the version of the paperback showing the two eyes in a frame are not the Kaufmann translation. This translation is OK, but you should know that the product information is incorrect.Additionally, the two versions I refer to use ALL CAPS instead of italics. Nietzsche loves his italics, especially in BGE. It's like he's screaming every other sentence.

This ebook is illegible. Someone just did an OCR scan of an existing translation, without fixing any of the problems. About once a sentence, two or more words are crammed together likethis.

This is the third book I've read of Nietzsche's. The first was a collection from various writings, and the second was "The Anti-Christ." Beyond Good and Evil was Nietzsche's attempt to summarize his entire philosophy into one book. I don't know if I'd ever call anything Nietzsche wrote a summary, but this book does lay out his principles in black-and-white, and it did help me put some of the pieces together.Below are a few of my takeaways. It's not a summary, because I don't even know if that's possible. So I just wanted to share a few things I've picked up on.On the will to power:If modern (nineteenth century) man is no longer going to believe in God, or at least if they're going to tone down His influence a bit, the next logical step for them was the concept of free will. In a post-enlightenment world, people were trying to understand if there really is a God pulling our strings like puppets. If they weren't going to believe that, the next logical step was free will. Nietzsche rejects free will and instead believes in the will to power. Essentially the will to power is his phrase that means people should aim to take power over themselves and create a "superman" or "overman" out of themselves. Nietzsche sees this as an alternative to the concept of free will.On religion -Another thing that I noticed about Nietzsche after reading a fair bit of his work is that, as critical as he is of Christianity, he seems to have a bit of an affinity for Buddhism, or at least the principles of Buddhism. Buddhism's primary concept is "life is suffering," right? Nietzsche writes extensively about suffering as well, arguing in part that the cause of all great human advancement is suffering. In the Anti-Christ, he often points out that Buddhism is better than Christianity. To be fair, there was a pretty short list of things that weren't better than Christianity, according to Nietzsche.I love the short epigrams and how Nietzsche is capable of concentrating so much meaning into such few words-"Blessed be the forgetful: for they forget their stupidities, too.""Whoever reaches his ideal transcends 'eo ipso.'""'Where the tree of knowledge stands, there is always Paradise': thus speak the oldest and the youngest serpents."*eo ipso = thereby

Great translation by Judith Norman! I much prefer it to the standard Walter Kaufmann translation.

Terrible print job, Create Space. Margins are microscopic, spacing is awful, text is crammed in so tightly I need reading glasses. Buy any other copy.Good words, bad publisher.

The written material in this book is acceptable but the book itself, that being the page is not upon opening the book I discovered this. The first three pages had the top right-hand corner are bent to an angle as to where they are not attached to the binding and thus make an indent into the cover of the book which ruins the pristine and beautiful image on the cover with a bulge that is clearly visible. I lived 5 years in Rhodesia with my parents and went to school there. The author is factually correct. The negative reviews are probably from communists or socialists who refuse to acknowledge the unholy mess brought upon Africans by external political influence. Rhodesia, Angola where I was born, Mozambique, South West Africa, all were mere pawns in wider global geopolitics... Africa is too resource rich to be allowed to prosper on its own...

I made two recipes from this book; I am an experienced cook and one recipe, Bloody Cobbler, was a complete failure from how the recipe was written. The filling boiled the cherries and sugar, then asked to add TWO CUPS of water. This looked strange, but I did it anyway, and it made a watery mess. I make lots of jams and jellies and pies and there was simply too much liquid to ever boil down to a reasonable filling, and it still managed to be too sweet. If they intended a thickener, it isn't in the recipe. The second recipe I tried was the Fall Salad, which sounded delicious. The dressing, however, called for 1 cup of apple cider to 1/2 cup apple vinegar to 1/4 cup of oil. If you make dressing, you can immediately see the problem in the ratio of fat to liquid. I reduced it to 1/2 cup juice and 1/4 cup vinegar and still made over 1.5 cups of dressing to be used on a single salad. Eh. That might have been fine, but the combination of salad ingredients just didn't work, it was like a kitchen sink of flavors that simply didn't come together. My cookbook club made other recipes from the book with similar, uneven or simply bad, results. The pictures are pretty, and that's about it.

If you love sour cream then get this book. I hate sour cream yet it does list a substition.Seriously, why do most recipes have sour cream?!The original drinks look interesting.I really bought this book to add to my collection as I'm a Tim Burton fan. The section about party themes and decorations is a cheap filler.I felt either this book should've been cheaper for the actual content or replace the filler content with additional recipes.If this goes on sale for less than $10.00 then do it, otherwise, don't spend $16.00 on this.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! This book is so thoughtful well written and very inspiring plus the recipes are just to die for!! Zach neil is such a kind person including everyone and beetle house is just a place that'll take your breath away, its definitely worth it all around, THANK YOUU!

Interesting and whimsical recipes and everything I have tried so far has been wonderful! Some of the recipes are a bit time-consuming to make in their entirety, but the ingredients are easy to find and the book provides ideas for converting many of the recipes so they are vegan-friendly! The Soul Sauce is excellent.

Granddaughter liked it, but it was a little more babyish than I was expecting.

My 10 year old niece loved this for her birthday. She loves to cook and enjoyed looking at the recipes.

Loved it so much, ordered a second one to give as as a gift. I’ve been to the Beetlejouse restaurant, so this was a special cookbook for me.

This is a very unique and fun cookbook with some keeper recipes in it!

I love this book--- it's filled with creative ideas on how to take butter from yum to YUM! I never realized how a few carefully chosen ingredients added to butter can lift a dish to a whole new level. I mean butter is good as is, but throw in some wine or cheese or even fruit (who knew??!) and it becomes heavenly.

This book contains great recipes for gourmet cooking either at home or at a restaurant.I would advise home cooks to buy the Kindle Version as it's only 54 pages.I would think this book would be a welcome addition to any high quality restaurants reference books.
