My son was failing 5th grade math. His math benchmarks were also failing. We got this book and practiced it every night for two weeks before the STAAR and he PASSED! He was able to advance to the next grade and is now in 6th grade and making As in math.

My boy is currently in fifth grade and worked through the first test both session 1 and 2 in two sittings. He got 29 out of 30 correct on session 1 and then again 29 out of 30 correct on session 2. We are suspecting this test book is too easy compared to the practice test the school gives out.

Getting this as additional refresher for my child during spring break. Some of the questions are confusing and we also found many questions with typo error in the answers. My child got frustrated because he was sure he got the answer correctly but the answer sheet said no. He ended up spending a lot of time trying to figure out why and came to me almost in tears. Will not recommend this book!

This book has multiple typos and questions that have no correct answer. I would solve the questions yourself prior to believing the answers given in the back of the book. Did no one proofread this prior to publication?

The part I like about these flashcards is that they test theory/rules/principles and strategies. There is a fair share of questions but most of them are interesting enough to wrap your mind around such as 3^0 = ? Sometimes there are tricky questions and sometimes useless ones such as True/Fals questions. I would rate this product as a medium level. Those who are new to the GMAT would benefit the most. All material seems to come straight from the Kaplan books, though some questions are structured very well to poke holes in my knowledge. One should be able to improve 20-30 points by going through these just by refreshing and getting quizzed on material.The verbal portion of the flashcards is heavily focused on grammar/argument rules and strategies. There is also about 50 or so SC questions that ask to identify the error, which are kind of neat.They are small enough (see my images in the customer images section) to carry in a wallet. There is no system to organize them such as a binder ring or a holder, so you will need to figure out how to carry them. Also the paper is pretty flimsy and they won't last long. If you get any of them wet, you can forget about it.I am giving it 4 stars for content and taking one off for flimsiness and easy questions. I like these better than the Barron's flashcards which are Questions only though on the other hand, are of a higher paper quality and fit much more text.Leave a comment if you have any questions about these flashcards - I reply fast.BB, GMAT 750Founder of GMAT Club

These cards will not come close to replacing stronger study material (Kaplan books, etc.) but for quick study breaks while waiting for the train, in the elevator, other places of temporary visitation (bathroom?) these cards are very helpful, It will get you familiar with key GMAT topics that should be covered in greater depth using other materials.

At first glance i thought it was useless but after going thru em, I found em to be quiet explanatory and informative about GMAT and the stuff that it covers. This is by no means detailed knowledge or covers any topics in details. Its just for quick review of materials that you should or are covering in the GMAT book course. I read a couple of cards like 25 a day or 10 cards of before sleeping and by the end of 3 weeks I was familiar with almost all the cards. Then I put it away and a week before Test Day, I got em out again and boy was I happy to see em again. It refreshed concepts or ideas I covered in beginning of GMAT course. HOWEVER, DO NOT RELY ON THIS ONLY FOR PREPARATION. AS I SAID ITS ONLY GOOD FOR REVIEW!!!!!

I bought them and forgot about them until 3 weeks before my test and now have been loving them. Highly recommend for travelers as an easy way to quiz / review without lugging your books around.Pros: light weight, cover a lot of concepts, color coded for different categories, fair cost, and lots of cards!Cons: cards kinda flimsy, some of the cards aren't helpful and need to be taken out (ex. what is a multiplier), some cards are kaplan 'strategy specific' so if you are taking another class (Manhattan) you will not know what it is talking about.Overall: B+, I'd recommend to any friend and an easy extra.

These flash cards are not as helpful as I anticipated. I have the GMAT 2011 Premier book which is much more useful. Of course, the GMAT in a Box is not sold as a substitute, but as a supplement to the GMAT 2011 Premier book. In my opinion, if you have the book, don't bother with this item. There aren't as many examples as I expected. Many cards just review the Kaplan methods...which you could get by taking notes or highlighting certain points in the book. I was hoping for more sentence correction problems and math problems. If you want more practice after studying the book, I'd just buy their Verbal Workbook or the Math Workbook if you feel that you need more practice with one or the other.

I'm not even half way through the math flash cards and I've encountered multiple obvious errors. Things like the answer on the back won't have anything to do with the questions on the front, the question will say "Find the area of the trapezoid above" and the it will be an image of a square that really goes with the question on the next card, there will be division symbols where there are supposed to be plus symbols in the answer explanation. It makes me feel like I need to verify each of their answers, can't be sure it's correct information. Does Kaplan not proofread their stuff? This is just embarrassing for them.Also the cards are flimsier than you think. They're printed on thin paper.

I needed some extra help in studying for the GMAT. i found this product on Amazon and decided to buy it. I am not disappointed. The material in this little box is a plus. I use it in games and this has helped my practice test score improve. Purchasing this product was a good investment

Product is a textbook on the bodies adaptation to training. As such is a dense read and will take multiple read throughs to understand like many texts. This book covers everything between the relationship of maximal and relative strength, the role of tendons and biomechanics in movemant. And differentiated the styles of micro and mesocycle trainning used. I consider this the most important book in my kinseology library and a go to book whenever I am devising a new training program.**An important note is this book will not teach you training programs, nor specific exercises, the best way to use it, is to check your micro and meso cycles for optimal recovery time, and the line up you use for your exercises to best meet your goals and avoid under/over training.

This one of the essential texts for those interested in Strength and Conditioning, and more specifically the science behind programming and training for progress. There is enough information online on just what this book covers so I won't summarize it here. But I would highly recommend it. It is not quite as dense and academic as "Supertraining" but does involve much more real science than most other texts. The references pull from a wide body of research from a variety of sources.

How often do you say - WOW. When reading a textbook?? Well, if you are really into strength training, this literature will bring you a new and fuller understanding of just what it is and how it is done. This should be on the book shelf of all lifters and body builders,along side of Bill Pearl's books. This is not going to give you specific exercises for like building your bicepts, Bill Pearl's books do that in spades. No, this book built on the latest science and on the author's years of training olymipic/international champions is a rare mix of the two. I had expected that there would be kinestics pics galore showing all of the exercises, etc. But to my pleasant surprise it was more on the sciences; biological, neurological; physical chemistry, mental conditioning and in the "real world" what works and does not!! It blew away some of my closely held falicies and replaced them with research and actual training methods that are proven to work. I have termed it a textbook which might offend the authors, but it seemed appropriate as it reads in many sections like a text book. Replete, with formulas, math, graphs; enough to make any of us reach for the Excedrine. I found that once well confused, I would just skip ahead and there I was pleased to find softer examples and illustrations that reflected back onto and made more understandable the "textbook" stuff.The knowledge and training methodology(s) gave me a Quantum leap forward into understanding my rate(s) of progress and how to keep on pressing toward the mark with out; burn out, plataus, injuries, etc. I have totally revamped my strength conditioning program to mirror and include the book's knowledge. I am gaining more, with less time spent at the gym - that alone is worth the cost of this book.The only negative is why this book was not around when I was peaking ! I can not turn the clock back, and I am now only 5 months into a return to the gym, and at 65 in better strength now than my body building program of 5 days a week at 40!

If you have been introduced to strength training via crossfit then definitely buy this book to find out how to apply the actual science behind strength training; many of Glassman's original principles are based on the Soviet system (let's face it, anybody serious about strength training can trace their roots back to eastern european and soviet-era research) and this book does an excellent job of explaining how adaptations occur.This book is one of my 'go-to' references when writing articles or developing talks on strength training. it doesn't provide sample programs, but instead does provide the information on how to develop your own programs. It's not written for the typical fitness consumer, so be prepared for a science-laden text. For any serious student of performance training this book is another 'must-have' for the library.

This is a must addition to the library of all strength trainers and traineês. It's an excellent mixture of solid science and practical applications. I can highly recommend this.
