High recommended! This is a refreshing book! Delves deeply with the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Randy Clark supplies us who read this wonderful book not only with support from the Word of God, but also from his experiences. I have tried to read all I can regarding the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and this book stands out among all the other books! This book describes a balanced view of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. It also is very PRACTICAL. It tells us:1- Both the Pentacostal and Traditional views of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, as well as the Protestant and the Catholic perspectives!2-Practical instructions of how to RECEIVE the Holy Spirit.3-The Benefits and How to receive the wholeness of God. This book is not only a good teaching with a balanced view from all perspectives, but what I enjoyed is how practical it is in How to be filled with the Holy Spirit, How to be in His Presence and being Led by the Spirit, the Holiness and Purity and Power of the Holy Spirit we can all experience and enjoy as Children of God! As soon as I got this book, I read it for 2 days straight. Before I ordered it, I read the reviews because I was desperate to find good books that will reveal to me the how-to for The Holy Spirit. I'm a single mom who doesn't yet have a car and I watch ministry on Youtube since I can't make it to church. I've never met Randy Clark or any of these amazing people with strong inspiring relationships with God. I was hoping this wasn't gonna be another book that would lead me on and at the last 2 pages suddenly give me a little hope. I got my wish! Through the first half of the book, I kept thinking I was in school, Randy was at the front of the classroom showing youtube videos and taking me on a journey through time and different places to meet people, and after this and this chapter I would graduate and get my hard earned diploma. It felt real. Then through the second half of the book, I learned ALL KINDS of unexpected things about Holy Spirit. I was WAY off with my expectations before reading this book. Then when Randy prays his prayer of impartation over you in the book, YOU WILL feel a sense of "WOW what just happened?!" YOU DO feel equipped with the full knowledge of Holy Spirit AND you'll feel how real He Is. My eyes are opened. This book wasn't those types of books where the author boasts of their wonderful skill throughout the entire book without sharing with the reader how to receive these things and at the very end says good luck and you immediately decide that book is going straight to Goodwill. No, this is one of those permanent-spot-on-the-shelf books that you'll either want to read over and over or keep at your bedside to search and memorize phrases from it. It was worth more than the money I spent yet the affordability was appreciative as I ordered a big bundle of books equalling to nearly $200. BTW, today is the day after I finished reading it and a teacher I work with (out-of-nowhere) gave me a prophetic Word. That's never happened to me. I wasn't brought up to believe in these things. This book is no joke. If you're searching to know The Holy Spirit, you're about to find out. This book WILL change your life.

Let me first say that I am a Spirit filled Pentecostal and have been for over 20 years. Throughout my ministry God has used me in a prophetic role to expose and stand against false teachers. I consider this book to be very dangerous and the Spirit behind it is not the Holy Spirit. A brief internet search will reveal that the author claims to be an Apostle on the same level as Paul and Peter. As such, God is giving him new non-biblical revelations that are to be accepted above what the Bible says. In other words the Bible is no longer to be the Christian's measuring rod, or standard, but Mr. Clark's words are. In this book the author claims that neither the evangelical view or the Pentecostal view of baptism in the Holy Spirit is correct, but is view is the correct one. When giving his review of the Pentecostal view on this matter, he puts his own spin on it so as to undermine it. Their are a lot of deleted facts. Books on the Holy Spirit by Robert Menzies will demonstrate this. Mr. Clark believes that Bible doctrine should be based on experience rather than Scripture. This is very wrong and creates all kind of false teachings. So in Mr. Clark's view, barking like a dog, rolling on the ground, laughing uncontrollably, being shocked to the point of being in such pain you can barely walk, etc. are all legitimate signs of Spirit baptism.Mr. Clark also attacks the Biblical standard of holiness and calls it "legalistic" . In his view a person who rolls around trembling, smokes and drinks is operating in the Holy Spirit. This is a spirit alright, but not the Holy One!Finally Mr. Clark fully embraces cults (Roman Catholicism) as Christian.Their is a lot wrong here and I strongly encourage some serious research by anyone considering purchasing.

I like the theme of the book--The baptism of the Holy Spirit and the presence of God restingupon you.I also like the testimonies.The author does intensive research evident in the bibliography of more than ten pages.The research information is good, but the presentation of the information is CHAOTIC.The author focuses on many different topics: The baptism of the Holy Spirit; the history of the baptism of theHoly Spirit; the Early Church perspective; the Roman Catholic Church perspective; the Protestant Church perspective;the Pentecostal Church perspective; the Charismatic Church perspective; the Great Awakenings or Revivals;testimonies, etc.The author loses focus of the central theme and presents an academic research, in the brain-storming stage.It defeats the purpose for writing the book and effectiveness.

Randy Clark's book, or at least the opening chapter (the only part available as of today) is a practical, thorough and Biblical treatise that not only tells the story (and stories!) of Pentecost, but filled me with hunger and a sense of yearning too.

information is minimally outdated.Advertised as new, but book somewhat "tired".

As a professional in ophthalmology, but not performing Visual Exams on a regular basis, I find this book to be the one tool that allows me to interpret a the various exams performed on my Paradigm Visual Fields diagnostic device without concern of a misdiagnosis. With the increasing level of glaucoma due to the graying of America, Perimetry is becoming a more and more important tool in managing glaucoma. The book is well written, my assistants understand the basic principles presented therein and the true beneficiary of this tool being available in my library is the patient. I do not know of any book on Perimetry or Visual Field Analysis that is more precise and detailed.

I have read all of the books in the Michael Bennett series, and this was by far my least favorite. The story didn't hold my interest. It seemed to be superficial and hastily written. It was hard to keep track of all the CIA/Secret Service characters. I also missed the usual inclusion of Bennett family members ( only Brian was included in the storyline) and there was no further development of the Michael/Mary Catherine romance.

I always look forward to the Michael Bennett books. I was so excited when I saw it was available!! $14.95 for a $2.00 book. I am not happy. This was so poorly written, I can't imagine Patterson putting his name on it. An interesting premise but no follow through! A widowed NYC cop with 10 adopted kids, and a grandfather who is s Priest!! Every prior book I loved. So much interaction with the kids, his job, his nanny, and of course the wise grandfather/ Priest. None of that in this book. It didn't tie up any loose ends. It was just "rush the reader thru and get to the end"!! If I could get my money back I would. I'd skip this one. As the kids say, it sucked!!

James Patterson et al have a winning formula to suspense novels. Bullseye fits the bill. I enjoy reading about Detective Mike Bennet and his family. I wish he would come to terms with his first wife's death due to cancer and finally get around to putting a ring on Mary Catherine who plays a pivotal role in his life and is much a part of his success with is work and family. This is a different review because I think if you read Patterson as much as I do .. Especially his series books, you know the formula minus a few twists but you really get to know and love the characters. His character development throughout each book is thoughtful and consistent. I think that is really what I love about his books.

BULLSEYE by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge is my 75th-plus Patterson generated novel and at least my tenth read starring NYPD Detective Michael Bennett. The book starts out with Detective Bennett getting involved with an assassination attempt on the new American president. Lot’s of technical details are built into the narrative as well as discussions on long range kill weaponry and even instructions on how an assassin sets up for a kill. As an aside, I have often wondered how the 10-kid Bennett family with a retired Catholic priest; the Irish lass, Mary Cathrine, chief nanny and cook, and family organizer with benefits; not to mention the occasional waif adopted off the street, manages to survive so well on a NYC public servant’s salary.Guess I'll never know that. I would place Bullseye in the middle of Patterson’s thrillers. As excitement goes—not at the bottom, not at the top. I did love the short chapters. I give Bullseye a 3-star rating.

This book seemed to be all about street names and corners and weapon types and descriptions and/or model numbers rather than story. The last quarter of the book is all that we really got excited about while reading. The rest of the book was just not up to par with the rest of the series. Please don't do this again as we really have enjoyed this series til this book. If you are reading this series skip this book. You won't be missing out on anything except the neck nuzzle on the last page.

It saddens me to only give this book 1 star because I love James Patterson and I especially love the Michael Bennett books, but I couldn't even get past the first quarter of this book. It was too technical without really getting into the meat of the story. It would serve better as a guide to tactical weapons than a work of fiction. I'm not giving up on James Patterson, but I really hope the next one has more story to the story.

Bullseye is the continuing series about NYPD detective Michael Bennett. This book is about him working with the Secret Service in trying to prevent an assassination.We go along with Bennett as he works with the Secret Service in trying to find a hired assassin before it to late. As with other Michael Bennett books, also will focus on his family life with his 10 kids.This book is written in the usual James Patterson style, fast paced, small chapters. I found book hard to put down.Recommend this book, not only to the James Patterson fans. But those who enjoy mystery/thriller books as well.

Wish I could give it no stars at all. I have read all the Michael Bennett series and loved them all until this one. I finished it but it was very difficult. Very boring book. I don't understand all the great reviews. It is making me give away the rest of my collection of this series and never buy any more.

These series of Where Is, What Was, Who Was are all just terrific for children. I'm pleased they are publishing the non fiction books about places and history, and topics of interest to students. They are illustrated nicely and the format of the book is appealing to children.

Great gift!

My students always want to learn more than what's on the curriculum...The Where Is series give us lots of great options to do research.

I didn't realize this book was written for grade schoolers. The "A Companion to Easter Island" book was a much better purchase. Also checking the internet for videos was very helpful.

The Tiger and Panther tank from World War II are probably some of the most well known tanks of the war, and many books have been written about them, but it was the Panzer IV that was the backbone of the German Panzer arm, and the most numerous tank that the Allied tankers fought.This book which is obviously a labour of love from the author, and who lived in close distance to the former "Nibelungenwerk"( and has been researching the topic for years) has produced a great book on the factory that built the Panzer IV.In 1939 the Germans gave the factory the designation "toy factory" to cover the real purpose for the sprawling complex that it would grow into. The book which covers tank production in St Valentin, a small village that became one of the most important armament places in Hitler's Germany, grew from 1941 - 1945 to become the biggest manufacturer of the Panzerkampfwagen IV.However it also repaired the more serious damage to the Panzer IVs sent back from the front, outfitted the Ferdinands and turned them into the Elephant,made the Jagdpanzer IV, and finally the mighty Jagdtiger. as well as completing armoured rail cars.There are numerous pictures of the production lines, charts on production numbers, photos of the more prominent Nazis visiting the factory, the effect of bombing raids by the allies and much more.It also covers forced labour and prison camps, workforce, plant facilities, and the St Valentine satellite concentration camp, and working conditions.The book is well written, interesting and full of facts on tank production and processes and would appeal to any armour buff that had an interest in how the Germans manufactured and supplied their tanks to the frontline units.Well worth the money

Looking for information about WW2 industrial activity, I am impressed with the quantity and the accuracy of details.Thanks to the author for his work.

Indeed, I had hoped this book would have contained more detailed information on Dr. Ferdinand Porsche's heavy tank designs, especially his take on the legendary "Tiger".Very short overviews on few prototypes, so-called "special-purpose vehicle production/conversion" and planned Panther (II) and Tiger II production were all very interesting, but way too brief - especially when the author had an access to many valuable archives and collections (cited throughout the book). This includes official reports/documents on technical development, business production and board of directors meetings. For example on the page 197: "completion of tanks (Porsche Tiger) with turrets can be documented up to chassis number 150 007" - but no further information is given (hint to the author: chassis and turret numbers are quite important to the panzer enthusiasts).And how about the VK.4502(P)? According to Doyle, three prototypes were built at Nibelungenwerk but the author mentions nothing about them. The Jagdtiger 8.8 cm still remains as a mystery, and there's also reference to "one additional Jagdtiger completed under the supervision of the Soviet occupation forces" - again, no further info on this vehicle. This makes me wonder, were the last production reports were completely destroyed/captured by the Soviet forces?The book has extensive chapters on forced labour, but there's no mention how Jagdtiger's mechanical problems were suspected as sabotage, done by "foreign workers" (further reading in "Combat History of German Heavy Anti-Tank Unit 653" by Karlheinz Munch).I hope we can get to see a volume II (or revised and extended ed.) some day, including all the pictures from the original German language edition(s) and hopefully some heavier data on the tank production. Otherwise, the book is really beautifully done, satin-like pages with some intriguing (but a bit grainy, dark) photographs.Overall: "OKH Toy Factory: The Nibelungenwerk: Tank Production in St. Valentin" has a lot of interesting trivia and bits... making hungry for more.

I just finished reading this book...very enjoyable.The pictures leave a bit to be desired...many are dark and a little on the small side.If you are a German Armour fan this book is for you.

I read this book in a little over a week, finishing last evening. It is classic N. T. Wright. He attempts to get into the psyche of the former zealous Pharisee to see what made him tick following his Damascus Road experience. Paul comes across as a loveable, but a sometimes prickly defender of God's Covenant People, now extended to include Gentile believers in Jesus. Paul, Wright contends, never left his Jewish roots, but he did understand them now in terms of Jesus as Messiah.One of his passions was the absolute unity of Jew and Gentile in the one body of Christ with no distinctions between them. He abhorred the idea of two churches, one for Jews and one for Gentiles. The is perfectly aware of the sensibilities of each group but insisted that they respect each other and have full fellowship - down to table fellowship - with each other.He also maintains that, following the example of Jesus, Paul gave high value to women. He cites the number of women Paul greeted in his salutations to the house churches in Rome, for example, including one whom he recognizes as an "apostle." He argues that Paul is not a misogynist, but that he elevated the place of women in society.His final summation of the success of Paul's work is priceless. To me, the highlight of the book was in the final chapter. There he contends that Paul;'s emphasis on love and an outward look in the churches he established and nurtured was responsible for Christians establishing hospitals in the 2nd & 3rd centuries, as well as the development of education for a population that was virtually illiterate prior to the work of Paul. Even the technological advance from books on scrolls to codex format he attributes to Paul's extensive use of the Old Testament Scriptures and the consequent need to be able to thumb through instead of scroll through.

Wright has knocked it out of the park with this book. There's a lot more than dates and places as Wright digs into the culture and customs in which Paul would have found himself. Many biographers seem to feel that they need to make the subject of their book appear to be a saint. Wright has painted Paul as a human being: sometimes kind and loving, sometimes angry, and often coming across as arrogant.I especially appreciated the way the Wright used Paul's letters to give more insight into Paul the Apostle, and Paul the Man.This book definitely gives me a new insight into reading and understanding the Pauline letters.

Yes, the book is repetitive, as you might expect or have come to expect from someone who writes as much as NTW—repetitive within the book itself and of Wright’s major insights published elsewhere. No, there aren’t biographical bombshells; Wright doesn’t know whether Paul was married, or when and how he died, or whether he went to Spain or wrote Titus. The book takes sides on a few well-established points of debate about Paul’s life, but the sides as well as the debates are well-established. Yes, a fair bit early on, the account shades toward biographical speculation on the one hand (was Saul mystically meditating on the road to Damascus?) and cultural exposition on the other that almost loses track of the individual being biographised.But this is one of the most inspiring books I’ve read in a long time. The book turns on when Wright ties the themes of individual Pauline epistles to a reconstructed Pauline life behind them. The pathos of 2 Corinthians will never be the same—the account of 2 Corinthians is just where I fell in love with the book. Getting three or four pages on an epistle rather than two hundred seems to clarify and prioritise Wright’s style immensely. I understood much better how it all fits together, and I’ve read a lot of Wright (for instance, if you’re like me and waded through 1500+ pages of Paul and the Faithfulness of God but forgot on p. 1284 what was said on p. 1011, some repetition is a helpful aid to memory).We need a biography of Paul, and this biography, not to reduce the Pauline epistles to autobiographical source material, but to reconstruct how the man lived out his own Christ-shaped theology and ethics, and to sense from that how we might. When Paul was alive, it wasn’t obvious who Christ was (or would be to believers in a mainstream or orthodox Christianity), or what it would be like to follow Him. The drama of Paul’s life is to see that meaning of a Christlike life contested in one of the first and most important Christlike lives. Christians have been living off the victories and clarities won in and through Paul ever since.

Absolutely amazing!! I greatly appreciate Mr. Wright's work and have been following, thinking, and praying about the things in which I read of his. This book is outstanding and well worth the read. I am a Minister and ALWAYS love "subtext" if you will. Just below the surface of the text where all the wonderful gems of truth are. Just waiting to be discovered and I believe Wright does a marvelous job of unearthing it. I recommend the book!
