TLDR, I think this is a great reference/idea book, but it's not good to bake directly from.Personally, I love this book, but you're not going to like it if you want recipes to bake from directly. This is primarily a reference book, and I peruse it regularly to get ideas or learn how classic desserts are baked. Want to know the difference between a french and swiss meringue and why you'd use one over the other? This book is great. What are the elements of a black forest cake? Also great. Want to make tiramisu from scratch? Look elsewhere.This book is really not constructed to bake from. In the actual recipe section, it usually says something like "make a sweet crust pastry," assuming you already know how to do that. Anything you make will have you either flipping to the front of the book to learn the base recipes or flipping to the back to learn techniques. Plus, I'm pretty positive all these recipes were originally in metric and converted (poorly) to imperial. You'll see measurements like "1 5/8 tablespoons" or "set the oven to 315 degrees." It's weird.Ultimately, it's a great book for a proficient baker looking to expand their skills and knowledge. But I would really not recommend trying to cook a complex dessert directly from it.

this cook book is BEAUTIFUL! The pictures are full page and colorful, diagrams are well illustrated and labelled. My only issue with it is that you need to have at least a basic understanding of baking to work with this book, otherwise you might get lost and end up with something that looks completely different than the pictures. It wasn't a big issue for me because I bake a lot, but this is definitely not beginner friendly.

This is a beautiful book containing classic pastries like Paris-Brest, Napoleons, and macarons. The architectural drawings of the pastries help you understand how they're put together, and the recipes are extremely clear and well written.Will you make pastries with an average of six layers of things that must be combined, cooked, and constructed? Maybe not. Nonetheless, you'll enjoy this coffee table book on pastries and appreciate the classic patisserie much more when you eat it.

It was a little harder than my student could handle.

I'm not a fan of sheet music review about the music. If you want to find out whether or not you enjoy it, you can always youtube it to find out. I always prefer to write a review of the sheet itself so you can figure out which edition to buy.Alfred editions are a bit hit-and-miss for me. The same feature can be sometimes great and sometimes annoying.-Big font. I love the big font for easy reading, but that makes for too many page turns and more open space than I would like (I'm a bad musician who rarely marks up his scores).-Light gray suggestive marking. I can never make up my mind whether to include those or not during playing.-Liberal use of footnotes. Sometimes a distraction, but always great to read.-Book always lays flat open. This is a plus =].-Original autograph, along with notes about how newer editors defile the original work =).

There are so many various recipes to follow depending on your personal tastes for this delicious Vietnamese soup. I have tried three separate recipes and found them to be fabulous. You can easily find a Pho recipe that meets and exceeds your taste expectations

First Pho book I bought. the recipes are very simple and lets you add your ideals or take of them. Making Pho is a long process, and I did find the necessary things in my local grocery store. I purchased a second Pho cookbook thats even better than this one.

Finally I can make my own Photos. I have tried many restaurants but te cost is sometimes not in my budget . Now I can make my own with these easy recipies.

Good and very detailed pho cook without picture. Very easy to follow. I wish that it has come with pictures too.

Well the author has addressed a couple of my complaints about Kindle cookbooks. He educates the reader on how to make goodstocks which other writers don't do but tell you to buy canned broth which is expensive and offers little additional flavor.The second issue that he has addressed is that there is nutritional info for every recipe which is needed in today's day and ageof calorie conscious people.Now the main complaint he did not address and that is pics of the recipes. It took me a while to read Clare & Tammy's book. As I was reading it my school was going through a process of refreshing our book room. We ended up going in a direction that in no way matches what Clare and Tammy propose, and honestly, it was painful to contrast the possibilities presented in It's All About the Books with the decisions made at my school, so I had to put the book aside for a while.The intentional, thoughtful vision Clare and Tammy propose for the bookroom would be an amazing resource for students and teachers. They have lots of innovative ideas about how bookrooms can support every aspect of a balanced literacy/workshop approach, realizing that teachers need access to text for all of the elements of balance literacy: yes, guided reading, but also read aloud, shared reading, book clubs, mentor text for crafts of writing and writing structures, genre studies, grade level units/topics, literary elements and devices, AND INDEPENDENT READING! Because “Having the right book at the right time is often the most important instructional move we can make to support our students." They offer an expansive vision of a “bookroom” that far exceeds what I’ve previously imagined. To have all of these resources at my fingertips would be a dream come true. The thoughtful and intentional vertical articulation of units and books described would provide an amazing depth of understanding for students, but also for teachers as they collaborate to gather and organize the best books for their purposes. I cannot express how much I love this book. Finished it, started it over kind of love. Hanif Abdurraqib has an unbelievable ability to connect what music means to our smallest selves and how it impacts to our largest issues. In a word: Brilliant.

My wife bought me this book because of my love of ATCQ. Within the first chapter I realized that I am also a fan of Hanif Abdurraqib! This "love letter" is a really powerful work about how our love of art impacts and shapes our lives. Much more than a simple bio of Tribe, this book is a reflection on growing up in the late 90's and entering adulthood after the turn of the century. While there is more than enough information contained within to please any fan of A Tribe Called Quest, Mr. Abdurraqib uses this as a jumping off point to look at how our admiration of artists whose works touch our lives and the "relationships" that we have with those artists can affect us on a far more personal level. Beautifully written from cover to cover and a joy to read. We all need more of this kind of writing in our lives. I will be checking out Hanif's other work!

What do I say? I read this book in one day, and I was drawn in and moved at nearly every page. I appreciate an author who can express deeply about a subject without the need to profess perfect understanding. Honestly I just finished it and am still working out the ways in which this book is fantastic.

i love this book: a poetic, moving reflection on what it means to be a ‘fan.’ why do we love the music we love? why do we hold certain artists in reverence? what do we do when those artists fail us in some way, when we feel betrayed by them, by their art?i learned much reading “go ahead in the rain,” learned about the crash that killed otis redding; about the sad fate of child prodigy, rapper chi-ali; about what exactly went down, that one fateful night at the source awards.i gained an appreciation for q-tip’s true genius, his work ethic. i learned of jet magazine’s genesis story (“a small magazine started by one black man and some furniture as collateral started a movement once, they say”). i was reminded of what it was like, growing up in the 90s.remember mixtapes? “no skippable songs,” abdurraqib writes. “the trick was recording from cd to cassette. recording from cassette to cassette was an option but only for the desperate” because: sound quality.remember how insane/amazing those source magazine covers were? the one with missy and timbaland reenacting a scene from the matrix? the one where dre holds a gun to his head?start to end, this book is awesome (chapter 10, 'family business' destroyed me DESTROYED. 'common ground' took a knife to my heart) but i think what i'll remember most are the open letters abdurraqib writes, to q-tip,to phife. the letter about a tribe called quest’s second album, “the low end theory” was exceptional. they didn’t deserve the album, abdurraqib writes to tip, but you gave it to them anyway."there are cookouts and 'soul train' lines on this album. there are hot rooms and hot card games. i imagine the low end to be anything you could touch once but is now just a fading dream. i imagine the low end to be a bassline that rattles your teeth, too. but i also consider the low end to be the smell of someone you once loved coming back to you. someone who sang along to aretha, or minnie, or otis. someone who loved you once and then loved nothing.”okay? o-kaaay. five stars, obviously. thank you for your art, hanif abdurraqib.

This book is riddled with incorrect and inconsistent information, typo's, ....For instance: on some pages it will use {% block page_content %} and others {% block content %}, when there is no block named page_content. You will spend half your time trying to figure out what the author intended. This book gives you a 50,000 ft view of Flask and the authors website has more useful information than his book.

This book is great. I had the first version of it and the second is just as good with some updated information. If you work with a lot of simple Python based we apps, this book is an invaluable look into Flask with lots of examples.

Very easy to follow; great explanations. I had my own Flask-powered personal webpage in production within 2 weeks!
